Chapel of Senhor Santo Cristo
This is a perfect example of the small chapels built throughout all the Portuguese territories in the simple Plain Architecture style. It has nice proportions and a good urban alignment with Rua da Garoupinha (street). The austerity on the outside masks the colorful Baroque carved wood altarpiece from the 18th century and a sculpture of Christ crucified in polychrome stone from the 17th century. Before the chapel was built the Christ was part of an outdoor cross, placed approximately where now is the small garden across the way.
