The Parish Church of São Pedro do Porto da Cruz, also known as Senhor São Pedro dos Biscoitos do Porto da Cruz, was founded in 1561. It was the first church in Biscoitos and was located in the Caparica area, with some remnants still existing today.
Later, in 1672, the second church was built in the neighborhood of S. Pedro, serving the parish community until the earthquake of 1980 partially destroyed it, necessitating its reconstruction thereafter.
Some people consider its reconstruction to mark the creation of the third church.
