The Império do Espírito de Santo de São José de Santa Luzia, located in the parish of Santa Cruz, municipality of Praia da Vitória, was built in 1904. It celebrates the feast of the Divine Holy Spirit on Pentecost and Trinity Sundays, with special emphasis on the Sundays of the Bodo. During the Bodos, there are processions to the church, followed by a coronation mass. After the liturgy, participants head to the empire, where bread and wine are blessed and distributed to everyone. In the afternoon, there is a festival with snacks, music, and auctions. During the Bodos, the “domingas” are drawn and stewards are appointed for the following year. Depending on financial availability, concerts or musical performances may occur.
