The Império do Espírito Santo da Agualva, is located in the parish of Agualva, municipality of Praia da Vitória, in the square in front of the Parish Church of Nossa Senhora do Guadalupe. Built in 1873, it celebrates the worship of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity on Pentecost and Trinity Sundays. During the “bodo” days, there are processions to the church, followed by a solemn mass. After the liturgy, bread and wine are distributed, followed by the “Function of the Holy Spirit”, with soups, stew, beef, wine, and sweet rice.
