The Império do Espírito Santo de São João de Deus, located in the parish of Santa Luzia, Angra do Heroísmo, was built in 1887 and celebrates worship on Trinity Sunday. The festivities, lasting a week, include religious activities such as the recitation of the rosary, and cultural and recreational events such as the “Pezinho” and musical performances. On the festival’s Sunday, the new committee is appointed and the “pelouros” are drawn for the next year. The festivities end on Monday with a bullfight.
