The Organic Products Market is a space where the interests of producers cross with the interests of consumers. Certified products are marketed in Organic Production Mode, such as fresh horticultural products of local, regional and national origin, grocery, cosmetic and vegetable products (seeds, substrate, etc.). In addition, it has a snack service made from organic products.
Founded in March 2001 by a group of 17 people, the Cooperativa Bio Azórica – Produtos de Agricultura Biológica CRL, its main objective is to encourage “the production and consumption of organic products, respecting the environment and promoting nature conservation and biodiversity through the integrated, durable and rational use of natural resources “(Article 3 of the Cooperative Statutes).
In 2008, Bio Azórica began its commercial activity with two points of sale, Fort de São Mateus and Biofontinhas. Due to its temporary character, two permanent spaces have been inaugurated in the meantime: the Biological Products Market in Praia da Vitória and Casa do Jardim in Angra do Heroísmo, in October 2012 and August 2014 respectively
