The Beco das Alcaçarias Mill offers one of the most valid testimonies of the richness and cultural, social and architectural diversity of the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. The initial construction dates from the second half of the 17th century. It underwent an important architectural and functional remodeling in the last quarter of the 19th century, and was deactivated in 1977.
This testimony of past times is of vital importance, in the place and in the population, which finds in it the expression of its culture and, at the same time, one of the foundations of its identity.
The property was recovered and is now part of the visitation circuit of Jardim Duque da Terceira.
