The Beginning
In the summer of 2017 the young entrepreneur Gonçalo Horta met the Island Terceira for the first time. He was delighted at the beauty of it. Felt at home. He met wonderful people who contributed greatly to the emergence of Osteria Azzorre.
The Bet
Ambitious and motivated believes that Osteria Azzorre can be a differentiated brand, breaking with the idea that an Italian restaurant has to have exclusivity regarding the use of Italian ingredients. The large chains of pizzerias bet heavily on fresh, unnatural ingredients.
Osteria Azzorre proposes a fusion of Italian food with fresh ingredients from Terceira Island.
From the ambition of a young entrepreneur was born a unique restaurant.
The Ambition
Graduated in Tourism Business Management and postgraduate in Information Management felt the need to change his life, avoiding the big urban centers, the routines, working indoors. I wanted to find a perfect space to establish your idea and add value to Terceira Island.
It all began at a family lunch, where his uncle Vítor Fernandes, a native of Terceira Island, knowledgeable of its potential, advised him to visit it, as it was the perfect place for his business idea.
The ambition to have his own restaurant comes from his family on his father’s side with pizzerias in Mafra, Évora and Alfragide.
The Concept
The Osteria Azzorre offers its guests a space of comfort, where people can feel at home. In addition it aims to provide a typical Italian gastronomic experience, seeking the good flavors of Italian food allied with the Azorean products.
