The centuries-old building, which pays tribute to Santa Catarina, has been restored, its layout reimagined, and the original structure expanded with enough wings to form a U-shape. The Palácio Santa Catarina Hotel now offers 34 accommodation units, four of which are single rooms. This transformation extends its original purpose of warmly welcoming visitors, as evidenced by the stay of Pope John Paul II, who rested there during his visit to the Azores.
An outdoor pool, parking, safe, 24-hour reception, Wi-Fi, electric kettle in the room, air conditioning, hairdryer, television, and telephone are services and amenities available to all guests.
The renovated and inspiring Palácio Santa Catarina features a breakfast room with a capacity for 60 people, including an outdoor area. Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. — for those eager to start their explorations early — until 11:00 a.m., allowing for a relaxed morning without missing the first meal of the day.
