Quinta do Martelo Restaurant
The history of Azores is deeply connected to its food, which you can find in our restaurant. From the moment you walk in you can notice the evolution of time, which turned a small traditional grocery store – our entrance hall – into a restaurant.
The traditional rural eating habits consisted of bread and subsistence agriculture; however, on special occasions, there was an effort to present better dishes to family and other guests, and therefore special products were used in the kitchen, including pork, beef and poultry. It is in this context of special occasion that our restaurant – “A Venda do Ti Manel da Quinta” – presents the best of the gastronomy of Terceira and the Azores, using all the organic ingredients produced in Quinta do Martelo. Besides, and given the location of our Quinta, on a fishing village of Terceira, here you can find fresh fish, cooked according to traditional recipes, or simply grilled.
All our meals are prepared in a wood burning oven and are, therefore, just as tasty as our grandparents used to make them. In everything you will find a bit of Azorean tradition: even our starters are made up of traditional snacks usually eaten during bullfights and religious/profane festivities.
