Refugo Bathing Site
The Refugo Bay is located on the south coast of Terceira Island, in Porto Judeu. It is a coastal bathing area whose geological formation was originated by the eruption of Algar do Carvão volcano. The volcano lavas have drained to the sea reaching the coast from the town of Serretinha and Feteira to the Jewish Port forming a zone characterized by its large black basalt stones mixed with large quantities of slag.
